Ahhhhh, Japan! Land of the Rising Sun. Sumo Wrestlers, Geisha Girls, Saki, Sushi, Wagu Beef….. A land of ancient traditions and futuristic products. A bucket list item if there ever was one. Join Miami Ski Club on an unforgettable journey to Japan, where world-class skiing, Olympic heritage, and timeless culture come together. This carefully curated small-group adventure blends legendary powder skiing in Hakuba with iconic cities, historic temples, and exceptional hospitality.

From the energy of Tokyo to the alpine slopes of Hakuba and the cultural heart of Kyoto, this trip offers a balanced mix of skiing, sightseeing, and immersive cultural experiences. Known for its light, consistent snowfall, Hakuba delivers some of the best powder skiing in the world, while non-skiers will enjoy guided tours, local cuisine, and historic landmarks.

A Small Group Adventure

Travel with fellow ski enthusiasts and club members while enjoying personalized service, seamless transportation, and thoughtfully selected accommodations. This itinerary is designed for both skiers and non-skiers, making it an ideal trip for couples, friends, and mixed-interest travelers.

Discover Japan’s Legendary Powder

Hakuba Valley, located in Nagano, Japan, is a premier skiing destination featuring 10 distinct mountain resorts accessible with just one lift pass to over 135 runs and 36 feet (yes, you read that right) of snow annually. Famous for hosting the 1998 Winter Olympics, it offers diverse terrain for all levels: from steep, deep powder at Cortina to wide, groomed runs at Happo-One and family-friendly slopes at Tsugaike.

Known for its abundant, light powder, there are dramatic, stunning views of the 3,000-meter Northern Alps. Rounding out the experience, there are numerous restaurants, cozy bars, and izakayas as well as fascinating cultural experiences with day-trip locations like the famous Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park. The convenient Hakuba Valley shuttle bus service makes it easy to get around to the mountain resorts and local restaurants.

Miami Ski Club’s Kyoto Pre-Trip

March 4-7, 2027 | 4 Days

Before heading to the peaks of Hakuba, immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of Kyoto. This three-day cultural prelude allows you to explore snow-dusted temples and serene bamboo groves, offering a tranquil contrast to the high-energy slopes ahead. The 1-1/2 hour flight north is a visual highlight, as the historic Tokyo cityscape transforms into a dramatic panorama of the Japanese Alps, building anticipation for the world-class skiing that awaits.

Kyoto Highlights:

Kinkaku-ji: The iconic Golden Pavilion reflected in its frozen pond.
Arashiyama: A walk through the towering, ethereal Bamboo Forest.
Kiyomizu-dera: Historic wooden heights overlooking the city.
Fushimi Inari: The winding path of thousands of vermilion gates.
